O Group Major Sponsor of Southern Cross Young Achiever Awards

2009 saw the O Group become a major sponsor of the annual Southern Cross Young Achiever Awards. The purpose of the Young Achiever Awards is to acknowledge, encourage, reward and most importantly promote the positive achievements of young Tasmanians aged between 14 and 27 years.
This year’s awards were presented at the Gala Awards Presentation Dinner in Hobart on Saturday 4th April 2009.
The O Group Trade and Career Achievement Award, promoting active leadership and a desire for self-improvement, while rewarding those who make their own opportunities for success, was presented to Brad Smith.
Brad owns and operates two mini motocross superstores, runs an importing business and a wholesale business. He designs his own brand of mini bike and has his own range of clothing, parts and accessories all under the brand name “Braaap”. Brad has been responsible for building four mini motocross tracks in Tasmania and has a vision to have mini tracks built near all townships to keep young people off the streets. He certainly is one young man “on the move”!
Brad was successful in a field a strong nominees which included finalists Andrew Hennessy of Blackmans Bay and Megan Dell from Smithton.
