Choose Community Team Building Capacity in Devonport

An approach to our community partner, Youth and Family Focus, by the Tasmanian Department of Housing to create a communal entertainment area is soon to become a reality for residents of Nichols Court in Devonport.

The Nichols Court apartments provide low cost housing for a number of residents facing economic and physical challenges and the proposed communal area is sure to improve their interaction and social networking opportunities.
The project to construct a central gazebo, complete with electric BBQ facilities is well underway with local Work for the Dole members gaining construction skills that include the basics of concreting and carpentry. The measurement and design requirement of the multi-sided gazebo also provides practical means of exercising numeracy and measurement skills.

The area is scheduled to be available prior to the holiday period and is certain to be popular as family and friends gather at Nichols Court to celebrate the festive season.
