St Patrick's Primary School
Mural Project - September 2008
St Patrick’s Primary School in Latrobe approached the Business & Employment Work for the Dole community team to assist with the construction of mural history panels at the school.
The team quickly swung into action preparing frames, constructed by another group of participants engaged in a Westbury welding skills activity that will hold the murals.
Eight murals created by a local artist, based on research from the children, depict the history of the school from establishment to the present day.
These murals will soon be mounted and on display to the public.

School’s Past becomes Work for the Dole Present - October 2008
The colourful past of Saint Patrick’s Primary School at Latrobe is on display for today’s students and the local community.
The Business & Employment Work for the Dole team has framed and erected a set of murals, depicting the rich history of this Catholic school, along the school’s street frontage.
The participants, all true art critics, gained a great sense of civic pride and achievement bringing this project to a highly visible public completion.
The residents of Latrobe, many being past pupils, are fully ‘stoked’ at the historic content and colour added to the school because of the mural placements. The current day students also appreciate the rich heritage to which they are, at this moment, writing new chapters.
