From this….. a derelict, yet historic, shed within the Inveresk Railway site. The Work for the Dole crew have stripped and recycled the ancient timbers from the floor. These ‘aged’ timber beams are to be utilised within the redevelopment at the Old Launceston Sea Port . |
| To this………an open and aesthetically pleasing concrete interior floor on which to place the many historically significant exhibitions depicting Tasmania’s great sporting achievers. Legends such as David Chettle, Darrel Baldock, Peter Hudson, Mac Sloane, Danny Clarke, David Boon, Ricky Ponting, John Bowe and Lindsay Jacobs, to name a few, will be immortalised within the Gallery. | ![]() |

Now this ….. work on the new Tasmanian Sports Gallery is progressing exceptionally well. The Work for the Dole crew are proud of their achievements thus far. With the acoustic ceiling, parquetry floor and display cabinets soon to be added the Sports Gallery is certainly taking shape! |
| And this……… the Tasmanian Sports Museum is rapidly becoming a reality – thanks to the Malua Club, Business & Employment and the Federal Department of Employment Workplace Relations. It is nothing short of ‘amazing’ the quality and progress of the work completed by the Work for the Dole participants – as pictured the parquetry floor and display cabinet is of world class! | ![]() |

And now....fully operational. This amazing project has concluded for the Business & Employment Work for the Dole Team but only just begun its life as an historically significant exhibit. |
