July 2009 - Earthworks Begin on Aged Day Care Centre Patio

The Into Work Community Team, after completing the “Coffee Deck and Café” for the Eliza Purton Aged Care home are now busily preparing the site for a new outdoor patio area at the old Ulverstone Hospital site. This Work for the Dole funded project will further improve the community facilities available for the aged residents within the Ulverstone town ship. Ulverstone, long regarded as a premier coastal resort town, boasts a proud history of community pride and regard for the many retirees that leave the farming community for retirement ‘by the sea’. This new patio area will include raised garden beds, a worm farm and hot house for those elderly residents that frequent the day centre. It is activities like this that raise the self worth, skill levels and sense of purpose for or jobseekers as they continue the daunting search for employment in these rather challenging times.
